The ES90 will be built on Volvo’s SPA2 architecture and will be the second vehicle, after the EX90, to be based on its Superset tech stack. Superset is a modular engineering platform that the company says will be used to make safer cars, more efficiently, and to improve them over time through over-the-air software updates.

The Volvo EX90 was promised to be launched with the very latest in the automaker’s safety systems, which take feeds from cameras, ultrasonic sensors, radar and a state-of-the-art Luminar Lidar system to create a 360-degree view of the world, no matter the time of day.

Volvo's ES90 sedan will debut on March 5 internationally integrating a powerful dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin setup for AI-driven safety.

It will be the next to use Volvo's software stack that includes two Nvidia Drive AGX Orin chips to manage semi-autonomous driving features. Existing EX90 vehicles with the single Orin chip setup will get upgraded to the dual setup to be used in the ES90, free of charge.
