A heated meeting between FBI deputy director Dan Bongino and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi occurred at the White House on Wednesday over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, two sources confirmed to Fox News Digital.

The fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein files flap is cascading, further roiling a Justice Department and FBI that have struggled for months to appease the demands of far-right conservative personalities and influential members of President Donald Trump’s base.

Bongino, the deputy director of the FBI, “is out of control furious,” one source told NBC News. Another said he did not report to work on Friday.
