Boston landing a WNBA team isn’t a done deal yet. But Mayor Michelle Wu says the city is willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.

Boston Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca offered to acquire the Connecticut Sun and move the team to Boston in a deal that values the team at a record $325 million, according to people familiar with the agreement.

A little less than two weeks ago, the Indiana Fever found themselves in a tough spot. They had just been crushed by the reigning champion New York Liberty on either side of the All-Star break to fall to 12-12 and were clinging to one of the final playoff spots.
