The Ohio State Buckeyes lead Rutgers 14–3 at halftime after a frustrating opening 30 minutes in which the offense has had to operate without Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith. Their absence has made the attack noticeably more one-dimensional, but Ohio State has still managed to move the ball well enough to control the game.
For the first time since 2019, the Ohio State Buckeyes have knocked off the Michigan Wolverines, claiming a 27-9 win. Julian Sayin passed for 233 yards and threw touchdown passes to Jeremiah Smith, Brandon Inniss and Carnell Tate to lead the Buckeyes. Michigan managed only 163 total yards as Bryce Underwood only completed eight passes.
This time it went to Jeremiah Smith, who moved Ohio State from its own 22-yard line to the Penn State 21-yard line with his 57-yard catch. Sayin then finished the drive with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Bennett Christian to make it a 31-14 lead with 3:21 left in the third quarter.
Watch as Jeremiah Smith beats his defender and scores a 35-yard touchdown pass from Julian Sayin to put OSU up over Michigan.
The Buckeyes rank No. 120 nationally in total plays (568) and average three minutes and 19 seconds of possession per drive.
James Peoples hurdled a UCLA defender as he completed the remarkable play with a touchdown in Ohio State's win over UCLA on Saturday.
