Officers shot the suspect after the suspect allegedly fired shots inside the store on Monday night.

Chesterton Police captured a man late Friday afternoon after an intensive search following a gun being fired in the 900 block of S. 19th Street.

“He has gone through specific training and has specific duties that made him uniquely aware of the danger to human life that drinking and driving poses,” Sharpe said. “But he did it anyway.”
