Five people were injured after police say they were shot in a mass shooting incident in Charlottesville on the evening of the Fourth of July.

After a shootout in Charlotteville's Fifeville neighborhood on the Fourth of July injured five bystanders, the community gathered to ask questions, raise concerns and grieve.

Five people were injured, some of whom were children, following a shooting that occurred in Charlottesville on Friday, July 4, Charlottesville Police Department said.
