The Vancouver Canucks are facing a tough stretch. Reigning Norris Trophy winner Quinn Hughes was announced week-to-week with an upper-body injury. With the team clinging to the final playoff spot in the Western Conference,

Hughes, a defenseman and the Canucks captain, and Pettersson, a center, are out with undisclosed injuries. They did not play in a 5-4 overtime loss to Seattle on Saturday.

In the case of Pettersson, Tocchet suggested that his star forward is roughly a week away from a return from injury. That is a really tough break for Pettersson who just broke a 6 game point drought by picking up a pair of goals against the San Jose Sharks just before the holiday break.
