Police in Vancouver provided a little more information Monday on the victims who died after a vehicle rammed into a Filipino community festival on Saturday night, killing 11 people and injuring dozens more.

To recognize this significant Filipino community, in 2023, British Columbia officially recognized April 27 as Lapu Lapu Day, a day that gives opportunity “to learn more about the history of people in British Columbia of Filipino heritage and to celebrate their contributions to the vibrancy and prosperity of the province.”

Hallmark actor Noel Johansen lost his wife Jen Darbellay in the Vancouver Lapu-Lapu tragedy that killed 11. Johansen and his 7-year-old daughter were injured.
