Canadian police on Sunday said that there is no imminent threat from the network of criminals following accusations against the Indian government related to the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The remarks came days after the the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the country’s national police service, publicly accused the ‘agents of the Government of India’ of being involved in ‘widespread’ acts of violence in Canada.

Twice since July 2022, Moninder Singh, spokesperson for a Sikh advocacy group in Canada's British Columbia province, has had police come to his door in the Vancouver suburb of Surrey.Twice, Singh said,
