Thanksgiving in Southeast Texas could actually be cold this year-or at least colder than we've seen in a while. Forecasters say a chilly pattern is lining up just in time for the holiday, with highs around the upper 60s on Turkey Day and nighttime temperatures slipping into the 50s, possibly even the 40s by Black Friday weekend.
Most states are expecting above-average precipitation, with temperatures varying across the U.S. during the busy travel week.

Dallas weather: Record rainfall, weekend flood threat & Thanksgiving forecast
After a day of record rainfall on Thursday, the Dallas-Fort Worth area will enjoy a couple of dry, pleasant days before the return of heavy rain and potential flood watches later this weekend.
"Storms could cause major travel headaches in the days leading up to Thanksgiving," Paul Pastelok, AccuWeather’s lead long-range expert, explained. "Drivers could encounter rain and fog as storms push from the central U.S. to the Northeast before Thanksgiving Day."
A brewing storm is expected to primarily be a rainmaker, though some snow is possible along its northern edges.
Another system coming out of the southern Plains on Monday night is expected to move northeast, increasing the chance of rain and mountain snow from Tuesday. Mr. Kleebauer said it was still too early to determine whether it would linger into Thanksgiving Day, as the timing depends on the speed of the storm and how quickly it clears.
