The Houston Yacht Club will hold its annual Holiday by the Bay Market from Thursday, November 6th - Friday, November 7th. The Holly Jolly Preview Party begins the fun on Thursday, November 6th from 6pm-9pm.

Origin of yacht clubs. In 1720 the Water Club of Cork (Ireland) was formed. It was actually a coast guard and cruising association. The club developed a formal protocol, including a dress code. In 1828 it become the Royal Cork Yacht Club. It is the oldest continually organized boating club.

The Houston Yacht Club has several active fleets that provide opportunities for racing at various levels of competition in different types of boats.

Houston Yacht Club offers an exciting program for cruisers, power and sail. And if you don’t have a boat, you can join many of the cruises at land destinations. We have cruises to many destinations in Galveston Bay as well as up and down the Gulf coast. Cruises typically include parties and shore-side activities.

The mission of the Youth Program, also known as the Ragnots, is to develop knowledgeable young sailors while instilling in them the love for the sport of sailing that will serve as a foundation for the future of our club and our sport.
