Jun 10, 2009 · It's my understanding that the Suite for Variety Orchestra was formerly mistakenly called Suite for Jazz Orchestra No. 2. The actual Jazz Suite was lost during WWII and a piano score was found and reconstructed at the end of the 1990s and the titles and pieces have since traded names. The current titles are:

Mar 31, 2011 · Re: Flute headjoint upgrade!!..MZ10. Miyazawa is one of the most overlooked flutes. The heads are very good for an upgrade. I think the lowerend (plated key) models are a bit pricey but the all silver and the alloy flutes are quite nice. I was a dealer for them when they first came to the US around 1977 and sold dozens.

Make the tip 1st and use an American style upside down V then use 600 grit sandpaper on the tip and get it vibrating... then scrape the channels.

Nov 3, 2007 · Les Robinson! In my not so humble opinion, one of the most overlooked lead alto players of the big band era. His work with Shaw was absolutely top notch. Hank Freeman, who played 2nd alto with Shaw (under Robinson) and later, lead alto with Miller's Army Air Force Band is another underrated lead altoist.
