03-29-2004, 07:34 AM. All CT state police officers have take home vehicles. For obvious reason, its a lot safer to have an UNMARKED car sitting in their drievway when they're not working. I think as far as the impersonating point, when you get pulled over and the officer comes to your door in full uniform, it may not be a question anymore.

Aug 5, 2008 · i was at post (for municipal) when they were putting a trooper class through- they get their balls broken daily- its very similar to a 27 week boot camp-tossing beds screaming etc- they go home on weekends too, but usually much later than us and they have to park their cars all facing the same way-after that though youre still a cop just like everyone else- granted they have more units/money ...

Normally when Im transporting someone to jail or the psych ward, or otherwise "out of service, but trying expedite back into service" if you get my drift. I don't use them often though.
