Short, steep-gradient streams draining radially from Mt. Moffett, Mt. Adagdak, and other upland areas characterize the surface water hydrology of the northern portion of Adak Island. Perennial flow is maintained by snowmelt in the mountains and seepage from the shallow surficial soils.
