Socialist feminists and Marxist feminists have long criticized many of girl boss feminism’s fundamental assumptions. As a feminist scholar, I think we need to be clearer and more rigorous with ourselves about what a feminist movement entails, what it supports, and what concept of freedom and women’s liberation is at work.
